MEStrength recently sent me some product samples (free) and I wanted to write a blog review to tell all you runners about this great product (sports drink).

Also, would you like to win some hydration drink mixes? Keep reading below for giveaway details (my second giveaway) and a 20% off coupon code. YAY, get excited!!

According to their website, this hydration drink is “specifically designed to improve hydration by delivering 5 essential electrolytes in an isotonic formulation that is complemented with 5 grams of creatine for performance.” This may all sound technical but all you need to know is that MEStrength is all pure and natural. MEStrength does not contain all those unnecessary calories, carbohydrates and artificial ingredients that some sports drinks have.

So how did I like it?

I tried the orange flavour last week and loved it. It tasted very natural. It was a much different taste from Gatorade. Gatorade is very sweet but the orange MEStrength flavour was just right.

I went running yesterday (I’ll have a marathon training post and an update on my ankle recovery, next week).
Anyway, I hydrated with MEStrength while running and also after running. I had the fruit punch flavour. This flavour was very strong for me so I didn’t like it much so in the future, I hope to dilute it with water. Overall, MEStrength tasted good but it may be an acquired taste for some of you only because so many of the sports drinks out there have artificial flavouring. I haven’t tried all MEStrength flavours yet so I suppose this review is just based on the 2 flavours that I tried.

Here’s a breakdown of how this product compares to others:

Great chart above. Isn’t it interesting that the most popular sports drinks and electrolytes have artificial flavouring in them? OKAY, I could go on and on about how great MEStrength is but in the end, you have to try it yourself. So let’s get to the giveaway details, shall we?

  1. I like to use coconut water!! That is my top pick. I love drinking water but I have to be careful not to drink too much during my half and full marathons, my fingers swell up & it gets very uncomfortable. Usually I gulp down the gatorades at the water stations at races if I run out of the coconut water. Lastly, I’ve been dipping my feet in nuun again & I really like the watermelon flavor, so good!

  2. I’ve tried a few after but really haven’t liked them. I mostly stick to water. I know that’s not always the best choice, so I’d like to try to find something I can drink that tastes good!

  3. I like coconut water, but it is so expensive. I used to drink powdered Gatorade a lot but started getting alarmed at the sugar content. So now I stick mostly with water, with a little bit of Gatorade.

I follow your blog via Bloglovin and I also follow you on Instagram!

  4. Hey guys – thanks for all the great responses, and thanks for taking a read of Aggie’s review of Mestrength. Glad to see you all understand the importance of hydration while running (especially in the late summer humidity)! Can’t wait to get a 5-pack out to the winner. Let me know if you have any questions on MESTRENGTH – I’d be happy to answer them! sam at mestrength.com

  5. I usually do a mix of water/gatorade and clif blocks during long runs/triathlons. For shorter runs I just drink water. Oh and I follow your instagram (nvillar9 is mine)
